Old Friends

Kelly and Amy

In our travels this month we have been in Florida and Georgia so far.  On Saturday we head to North Carolina.  While in Florida we had a great time with my Randy's family and my sister and nephew!  We also got to see the Arthur family in Florida!  We haven't seen them in 2 1/2 years.  We met Ellie when she was a baby, but had never been introduced to Hannah.  It is such a joy to see and reconnect with old friends.

We are enjoying the journey on the way to our destination!  How about you?

Please Pray for God's Grace for the Dye Family

Here is an update on my dear friend, Cherie Dye.  Her husband is a pastor in Battle Creek, Michigan.  They have a daughter that is married and has a child.  Two more daughters are in college and they have a son that is still in high school.  Please pray for Grace as Cherie takes her final journey.  Pray for rest, it is sometimes very difficult to sleep like you should when going through a trial like this.  Pray that the Love of the Lord would surround them.

These updates are from someone in their church:

Update from earlier this week:  She had three seizures last week apparently from the brain tumors. Last night she was taken to the emergency room with severe jaundice and a racing heart. She was released at 3:30 a.m. this morning and is back home. She can have no more chemo, because we nearly lost her three weeks ago after the first one. Her white blood count dropped extremely low, she had several mini strokes, her body filled with infection, and her kidneys began shutting down. In answer to prayer, the Lord turned the kidney failure around, but part of a kidney was permanently damaged. She was hospitalized briefly after the first seizure. The family has been urged to get a hospice involved, because they can provide so much more help than the visiting nurse can.

Update from this morning: Pastor Dye has had to make the hard decision to bring hospice in for her. We all knew it was coming, but still it is discouraging. She is pretty much bed ridden at this point. Family and church family are going to start helping some with her care. Pastor Dye's sister Colleen will be here tomorrow to stay for a few days. Please pray that we all can and will be a blessing. Thank you for your continued prayers.

My Wonderful Hubby

On Monday we were able to stop in Jacksonville and have lunch with my sister and my nephew at Chick-fil-a!  One of our favorite restaurants!!  While we were there we started talking about one of the first pictures of Randy and I.  We were in Cornwall, England, with the Navy and we shared a shake with two straws.  I can't find that pic!  Anyway, my nephew clicked a picture of us for posterity sharing a chocolate Chick-Fil-A shake!  MMMMmmmmmmmmmmm!!

My Dear Friend, Hope!

What a wonderful blessing I had on Sunday evening!  Two years ago when I was diagnosed with my breast cancer, the Lord sent me a new special lady to be my friend.  The day I had my surgery, she had her annual mammogram and she discovered that she had cancer also.  Praise the Lord that two years later we are both doing wonderfully!!!

As we travelled to Florida to do some meetings and see our family, we realized that we would be passing close to where Hope lives.  We made plans to surprise her at church, but didn't tell anyone.  It was so much fun to see the dawning realization on her face when it came to her who I was!  We recognized each other right away from the pictures, but she just couldn't put it together that I was standing in front of her!  You could tell that Hope had really been praying for me and had really asked people to pray for me.  As soon as I said my name, many of them knew who I was and were so happy to meet me.

Hope, thank you for being my friend.  Thank you for your love and kindness.  Thank you for your prayers and never ceasing.  I love you!
